rules of volleyball : indoor & beach

Rules are made not to be broken as many people say. Well there may be many different sets of rules for just one thing. For example, depending on what type of volleyball and your age, you'll have different rules.

I'll try to give you the most important rules for both indoor and outdoor volleyball, and the main ones that are usually the same. These are going to be specifically USA volleyball rules and who you're playing for may have slightly different rules.

Beach Volleyball Rules:

The court size can 18m by 9m or 16m by 8m
At least 3m free zone around the whole court
Net should be at least 9.5m long and 1m wide
Height of net for women ranges from 2m to 2.24m
Height of net for men ranges from 2m to 2.43m
Can be played with 2,3,4 or 6 players
May wear jewelry, hats, sunglasses, etc

That is just to name a few and now I'm going to go on to Indoor volleyball now.

Indoor Volleyball Rules:

Played on a flat, horizontal surface
The court size is 18m by 9m
At least 2m free zone around the whole court
Net should be at least 9.5m long and 1m wide
Height of net for women ranges from 1.98m to 2.24m
Height of net for men ranges from 2.13m to 2.43m
Played with 6 players
Jewelry and hats are forbidden unless religious purposes

Well there are just a few rules that you may want to know going into playing volleyball. However, slime volleyball and crab orchard volleyball may have slightly different rules than what I stated above. But whatever rules of volleyball you decide on, you'll be sure to have fun!
