Unanimous No. 1 for Stanford, Penn State Suffers Second Loss The AVCA voters were unanimous this week. Stanford received all 60 votes for first place in the AVCA poll. The Cardinal beat Arizona in three and Arizona State in four sets over the weekend for an 11-0 record thus far this season.

The No. 1 and No. 2 Division I women's volleyball teams face off head-to-head and not one station could broadcast it? A record-breaking win-streak was on the line and no one felt like bringing it to the masses? I find this hard to believe. This match isn't even schedule to air on tape delay as far as I can tell.
World Championship Roster Holds Surprises The latest incarnation of the USA men's team is in Italy this week getting ready for the start of the World Championships which begin this weekend. The 14-man roster was announced last week and there are a few surprises on this squad.

Amazing Ride Ends, But Journey Continues for Penn State It's over. After 109 straight matches won and three national titles in a row, the Penn State women's volleyball winning streak came to an end. The Nittany Lions lost to Stanford 0-3 on Saturday at the Nike Big Four Volleyball Classic in Florida. Interestingly, Penn State's last loss before the streak was to Stanford way back in 2007.
