Here’s an interesting article Tara posted on learning volleyball positions:

When first learning volleyball, most kids don’t know what position they are and what that position does. As you get older, you learn to adapt to one of two volleyball positions and you’ll always play that one spot. Especially if you’re on a high school or club team because they’re more competitive.

There are 2 players for beach volleyball and 6 for indoor. Well, for beach volleyball both players have the same amount of work, however, in indoor the setter for the most part has the most work because they always have the second hit.
