Assumption name #1 (in volleyball that is)

While it’s no surprise to those from Kentucky, the Assumption team with its 11 state titles and past national championships is ranked 1st this season.

Of course other teams will say it isn’t so, but only the upcoming season will show. We all know how those preseason rankings turn out for all high school and college level sports.

We’ll just have to wait and see!

Offseason volleyball training is a must!

Just another interesting article singing the phrases of good volleyball training outside of the regular season (ie. offseason volleyball training).

“We had kids go to about every camp offered in the Midwest and play in leagues. They played about as much volleyball as they could in the summer, and it shows,” she said.

If you can’t get to or afford specialty camps, then physical training in the weight room and on the track is always a good thing.

High school volleyball players to watch

Is Hawaii the team to beat?

Other say Nevada will win it. As reported by About.com Volleyball, Hawaii and Nevada were voted the front runners to win the WAC this upcoming season.

Then again, we all know how reliable those coaches polls are….

USA defeats Canada in world qualifiers

Canada lost in three straight sets to the US team according to CJAD.

Before tournament play began, the US was ranked 5th in the world, while Canada was ranked 22nd.

It’s nice to see volleyball getting such press on a world-wide level, adding to the legimaticy of the sport.

Stay safe on the courts and in the sand
